A smaller turn out than usual this year, with a number of our usual walkers on an Easter break elsewhere. The day was a fantastic one for walking with warm sun and a cooling breeze. As usual, we started off the morning with tea, coffee and bacon rolls and, just after 10:00am, we drove to our starting point at Highland's Farm. Although Norman had organised the route, his daughter Alison joined the team to make sure we followed the right route, shown below.

The ground was firm under foot and although Norman had categorised the walk with a difficulty of 6 out of 10, the steep hill down into the valley was not as tricky as expected. It would have been a different story if it had been raining. The happy band of walkers is shown below along with a lovely view at one point of the walk.

The walk was about 5.7 miles long and we returned to the Club house at 1:00pm to be greeted with chicken or vegetable soup, crusty bread and afterwards, hot-cross buns. A very big thank you to Sally and Angelika for setting up the tea and coffee urn and the tables, to Sally for the bacon rolls, chicken soup and other food and to Gill Robins for the vegetable soup. Thanks of course to those who came along for the walk and/or the food, and for those who helped wash and tidy up afterwards.
