Normally, Club members meet up in the last week of March to sign up for the new bowling season, enter the competitions and pay their fees. We call this the Spring-Get-Together but coronavirus has stopped us holding this event. Whereas we have missed out on holding a social event, we haven’t missed out on the paper work.
Lockdown afforded us the opportunity to develop online membership and competition forms which the majority of members have used to sign up again for the coming season. However, we have continued to use paper for those few members who don’t use technology.
83% of existing members have rejoined already but we have also had 7 new players join, some new to bowling. This bodes well for the coming season but we always welcome new and existing bowlers to the sport.
Our Green Keepers are preparing the lawn and other members are doing sterling work to tidy the lawn surrounds, clear the ditches and so on. We just need a little more warmth to encourage the grass to grow and we hope to be out there sometime in April. Here is Colin spiking the lawn.
