From the North (Marlow or Nettlebed)

The approach to Henley-on-Thames from the North is either down the Fairmile from Nettlebed on the A4130 or on the Marlow Road, the A4155. These roads join at a double mini roundabout and you essentially continue straight on into town on the A4130 into Bell St. and Henley’s one-way system. The road takes you down to the river and along to the Bridge. Stay in the right hand lane but at the traffic lights next to the Red Lion Hotel, go straight over the crossroads. Keep the pub called “The Angel on the Bridge” on your left. Now follow Thameside along by the river and as it bears right by Hobbs of Henley / Boats for Hire, the next left is Meadow Road. Take this road towards Mill Meadows and you will see the Pavilion on your left. There is sufficient free car parking next to the Pavilion for visitors and car park passes will be provided.

From the South (Reading, Shiplake or Harpsden)

If you are coming from Reading and/or Shiplake on the A4155 or from Harpsden, the A4155 and Harspden Rd.meet at a mini roundabout next to a pub called “The Three Horseshoes”. Continue along the A4155 / Reading Road until you come to the traffic lights at Station Rd. Turn right at the lights and drive down Station Rd. almost to the river. Don’t get confused by Google which thinks much of Station Rd is one-way. You can drive down Station Rd. and the third road on your right is Meadow Road (it’s the turning after the one to the Station).  The Bowls Club is down there on the left by the Pavilion. Take this road towards Mill Meadows and you will see the Pavilion on your left. There is sufficient free car parking next to the Pavilion for visitors and car park passes will be provided.

Note: that during rush hour, the A4155 can become quite congested and even at weekends, queues can be quite long.

From the East (M4, Hurley or Wargrave)

If you are coming from the M4 and Hurley direction, take the A4130 down Remenham Hill onto the Bridge. If you are coming from Wargrave on the A321, this road joins the A4130 at the bottom of Remenham Hill (also called White Hill). Turn left onto to Henley Bridge.

When you cross the Bridge, turn immediately left at the traffic lights by the pub called “The Angel on the Bridge”.

Note: that during rush hour, Remenham Hill and the Wargrave Road can be very congested and queues can be quite long.

From the West (Peppard or Greys Green)

This route provides an option at Greys Green where the cricket green is. If you keep on the road to the left it takes you past Greys Court and Badgemore Golf Course. The most likely route a ‘sat nav’ will take you is down Gravel Hill into town. You then turn left into Kings Rd which will lead you to the double mini roundabout on the A4130 where you turn right into Bell St. and Henley’s one-way system. The road takes you down to the river and along to the Bridge. Stay in the right hand lane but at the traffic lights next to the Red Lion Hotel, go straight over the crossroads. Keep the pub called “The Angel on the Bridge” on your left and drive along Thameside.

If at Greys Green you take a right turn past the Malsters Pub and Rotherfield Greys Church, this route takes you down Greys Road. Stay on this road all the way into the town centre (it’s about 3 miles). You come down to a set of traffic lights with the “Cook” shop straight in front of you. Go straight across the lights (although its a slight kink right and left) into Friday St. Drive all the way down to the river and bear right along Thameside.
