2023 Season start up

The Club is now preparing for the season to start sometime in April. The first activity involves getting existing members to sign up for another year. As well as many doing this via online forms, we will also be meeting up on the afternoon and evening of 25th March for a bit of a social event and, for those who prefer it, the completion of paper forms. We call this the Spring-Get-Together and we are pleased, if those interested in joining the Club, come along and meet members and discuss all things “lawn bowls”.

The Treasurer likes this event because it‘s when he collects the annual subscriptions from those who haven’t already paid. Members also put their names down for the Knockout Competitions and collect the season’s Fixtures Card and car park tickets.

To help limber up for the new season, we are also planning our usual Good Friday walk, which typically covers 4 miles and takes about 2 hours. We start the morning with a bacon buttie or two and after the walk, a light lunch of home-made soup, bread roll and hot cross buns.
